Saturday on OperaCast

The festival season in Europe is in full swing. You will hear lots of Mozart (including two different performances of Così fan tutte) and some Wagner from this year's Bayreuth Festival, along with some French and Italian opera.

Several German stations are currently running the Bayreuth broadcasts. Here's a quick listing of what's on for this weekend:

DR P2 - From the Berlioz Opera Festival in Montpellier, Lalo's Fiesque with Roberto Alagna, Michelle Canniccioni, Béatrice Uria-Monzon, Franck Ferrari and Jean-Sébastien Bou, conducted by Alan Altinoglu.

NPR World of Opera (numerous stations)- From Capitole Theatre in Toulouse, France, a rebroadcast of Thomas' Mignon with Sophie Koch, Laura Claycomb, Yann Beuron, Giorgio Surian, Blandine Staskiewica, Christian Jean and Phillipe Fourcade, conducted by Patrick Marie Aubert. Other stations are offering rebroadcast of Britten's Death in Venice.

WFMT's Opera Stage/European Opera series (numerous stations) - From the Bavarian State Opera, Bellini's Norma with Edita Gruberova, Sonia Gonassi, Zoran Todorovich, Roberto Scandiuzzi and Cynthia Jansen, conducted by Friedrich Haider. Some stations that run behind the regular schedule will be offering Mozart's Idomeneo or Profoviev's War and Peace.

Bartok Radio, Bayern 4 Klassik, Radio Oesterreich International (ORF), Radio Slovenia Tretje and Musiq3 - Live from the Salzburg Festrival, Mozart's Ascanio in Alba with Iris Kupke, Sonia Prina, Marie-Belle Sandis, Charles Reid, Diana Damrau, Christian Banzhaf and Lilly Marie Tschörtner, cinducted by Adam Fischer.

Espace Musiques (French CBC) - From Lausanne, Switzerland, Mozart's Così fan tutte with Maria Rey-Joly, Sophie Marilley, George Petean, Shawn Mathey, Daniela Mazzucato and Miguel Sola, conducted by Jean-Yves Ossonce.

Latvia Radio Klasika - From the Orange Opera Festival, Donizetti's Lucia de Lammermoor with Patrizia Ciofi, Marie-Nicole Lemieaux, Rolando Villazon, Roberto Frontali and Roberto Scandiuzzi, conducted by Marco Guidarini.

Radio 4 Netherlands - From Montpellier, Handel's Amadigi di Gaula with Maria Riccarda Wesseling, Elena de la Mercred, Sharon Rostorf Zamir and Jordi Domenech, conducted by Eduardo López Banzo.

CBC Two - From Paris National Opera, a rebroadcast of Verdi's Simon Boccanegra with Carlos Alvarez, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Ana Maria Martinez, Philippe Fourcade, Paulo Albiani and Nicolas Testé, conducted by Sylvain Cambreling.

Sveriges Radio P2 - From the Royal Albert Hall in London, a Proms 2006 performance of Mozart's Così fan tutte, with Miah Persson, Anke Vondung, Topi Lehtipuu, Luca Pisaroni, Ainhoa Garmendia and Nicolas Riven, conducted by Iván Fischer.

Espace 2 - From Festival de Radio France et Montpellier, Vivaldi's Bajazet with Romina Basso, Christian Senn, Marina de Liso, Lucia Cirillo, Vivica Genaux and Maria Grazia Schiavo.

Radio Tre (RAI) - From Festival della Valle d'Itria, a live performance of Rossini's Semiramide with Clara Polito, Aldo Caputo, Eufemia Tufano, Federico Sacchi, Stefania Grasso and Roberto De Biasio, conducted by Rani Calderon.

France Musiques - from Festival de Radio France et Montpellier, two concerts, the first featuring Tomoko Taguchi, soprano with Philippe Riga, piano, performing songs and arias; the second featuring Matthieu Lécroart, baryton with Emmanuel Olivier, piano, performing lieder by Richard Strauss, Alma-Maria Mahler, Robert Schumann, Gustav Mahler, Hugo Wolf, Reynaldo Hahn, Cécile Chaminade, Camille Saint-Saëns, Emmanuel Chabrier and Francis Poulenc.

RDP Antena 2 - From Göttingen, a May 2005 performance of Handel's Atalanta with Dominique Labelle, Susanne Rydén, Emma Curtis, Michael Slattery, Philipp Cutlip and William Berger, conducted by Nicholas McGegan.
