Some things new ... some things old - Saturday, June 23, 2007

Three new operas among the old this afternoon: John Adams' Doctor Atomic (about the Manhattan Project) comes to us from Amsterdam; Thomas Ades' The Tempest from Covent Garden; and Danielpour's Margaret Garner from Opera Carolina. Two Wagner operas: Tannhäuser, and Das Rheingold. And two by Mozart: Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Così fan tutte.

  • Deutschlandradio Kultur - Live from the Schlosstheater (Potsdam Sanssouci),Lampe's The Dragon of Wantley, with Nicholas Warden, Michael Bundy, Joana Seara, Tamsin Dalley and Daniel Auchincloss, conducted by Gary Cooper.
  • DR P2 - An October 2006 performance of Janacek's Makropoulos Case, with Gitta-Maria Sjöberg, Gert Henning-Jensen, Johannes Mannov, Ylva Kihlberg, Jens Krogsgaard, Thomas Peter Koppel,Sten Byriel and Poul Elming, conducted by Alexander Polianitjko.
