Latonia Moore's big break - debuts as Aida this afternoon!

I hope you are all planning to listen to the Met Aida this afternoon. If so, you are in for a treat.

Violeta Urmana has cancelled as Aida and Latonia Moore will be making her Met debut in her place. Moore is a young soprano we have been following now for several years. She has a luscious voice that is turning more dramatic as she matures. We first heard her as a finalist in the Albanese-Puccini Foundation concert, and she was a winner of the Met Auditions Finals in 2000. She has been making the rounds of the major houses in Europe in the past couple of years, moving more and more into the heavier rep. Take a listen:

Bocca lupo, Ms. Moore!!!
